Hello,
I just moved to UC Irvine, and am looking for people in the Irvine area to climb with - outdoor local (like Riverside Quarry, Big Bear, JT, etc), outdoor longer trips (Yosemite, Tuolumne, Red Rocks, Sierra, etc), and regular carpooling to local gyms (in particular, I like the Hangar18 in Upland, but would like to be able to use the carpool lane driving out there due to generally bad evening traffic). I'm a safe climber with about 7 years experience. I like to do both sport and trad outdoors, and gym climbing weekday evenings to stay in practice. Also, as a "Regular Member" of the SCMA I can sometimes provide pre-reserved/pre-paid camping places at climbing destinations.

Thanks,
Greg Huey

I am about to be leaving the country for about 6 months so I can't offer a partnership just yet...

But I plan on climbing at Ortega Falls later this week if you are interested shoot me a message I can send you details when I know them.

Live in West Covina but I go to the Hangar 18 in Upland regularly. Relatively new climber about 4 months now. Bolder V3's and have top roped up to 5.11A's. Plan to learn lead climbing soon.

Can't help you with the climbing partner part but, rather than driving all the way to Upland, check out Sender One in Santa Ana. NICE gym and much closer to you. Another good way to meet folks is to hit the Beach in Corona del Mar. Tuesday and Thursday after work (after the lifeguards and other people leave). Check the tide tables and don't go on foggy days. Right about now though, with the long sunny days and breezy afternoons, it can be real good.
