So in mid January to mid February I get to take a group of high school students to Bali, and we hope to do a few days of climbing. There's not much information out there yet, so I'd certainly appreciate any specifics as to where there is climbing in Bali, and what the grade range is. Thanks!

I don't think there're any good climbing there. There's some short routes (2-3 bolts) next to the beach and the rocks have bad quality. But I might be wrong also.

Spent a bunch of time there and to be honest, of all the things there are to experience and learn there climbing wouldn't even be on my list.

Take them up to study how the rice paddies are structured, organized, operate and are governed. Take them snorkeling. Take them to several villages and see how they tend to specialize in various arts and trades.

Yeah, their isn't much for rock climbing on Bali. I have heard about the short nasty stuff out by Tanah Lot. The rock is really horribly loose and covered in something slimy (probably from birds of some sort).
If you want to climb a big but kicking volcano the you are in luck. Mount Agung is on the north west side of the island. It's pretty easy to get to and not that expensive to schedule a climb. It is a long loose scree slope though. The views are amazing!

Note: the little volcano inside the crater of Mount Rinjani on Lombok is currently showing signs of life. A 7.2 quake and a bit of fireworks just caused many evacuations and a cancellation of scheduled trips. It's just across the water from Bali so I don't think it's causing any issues for Mount Agung but it very well could if the wind was right or the quakes became bigger.

Cheers!

hello everyone..
bali isn't much for rock climbing, just has 2 place, and if you wanna do climbing on the gym you can come to Canggu , its name Place Bali climbing (only Bouldering) and if you wanna do Lead Climbing or top Rope you can do at Bali Sports Climbing, just 100 meters from Bali Climbing, but they going to open April 2020.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
