Looking for a Joshua Tree guidebook

I am leaving thursday and am in search of a good guidebook for Joshua Tree.. I can't buy one when I get there because I won't get there until late in the evening. If anyone has one collecting dust, let me know.

Specifically the 'Joshua Tree West' book by Vogel would be ideal... But I would be interested in others as well.

Thanks,
Dave

You know it's only a twenty or thirty minute drive, from Hidden Valley back to Nomad Ventures to buy a guidebook?

I'm only going to have the morning to climb.. then I've gotta head to L.A.

So I'd rather have a book before I go... rather than spend time driving around to get one.

Dave I'm sure some of the locals would happily provide you with a list if you put down some preferences...MP is a suitable resource - you probably don't need a guidebook.

I have the old purple Vogel guide. Between it and Mountain Project you will be set. I will sell it for $8 plus shipping.

I'm looking specifically for trad climbs with a sub 5.5 rating.. which I know are scattered around.. I'll probably be staying in the Hidden Valley campground or somewhere very close to that.

these are a few routes I have been looking at:

The eye
false lieback
cricus
nutcracker
beginners three
upper right ski track
southeast corner

I am new to trad, the next trad lead I do will be my first. And i'll also be with my girlfriend, so the easier routes will be best/safest for both of us.

Thanks for the replies and the PM's guys. I received a very generous offer from a super cool local here in AZ. He set me up with one of the Vogel guides at an unbeatable price (like really though... unbeatable).

Thanks again PT, I'll be sure to pay it forward.
