Longs Peak Conditions - Broadway/Kiener's

Anyone go up to Longs last weekend? Looking at doing Kiener's this week and I'm wondering about snow and ice on Broadway and the upper route. I'm sure Lamb's Slide is great fun but I haven't been able to get any beta on the rest of the climb. Photos if you were in the area would be super helpful. Thanks!

Nope, but I'm following this thread to hear conditions as well. If they're not quite ideal still, holding off until next spring might not be a bad idea.

From lumpy ridge longs looked pretty cold and windy as of yesterday. Looks like itll be getting real cold later in the week as well which is good for the ice...

Thanks for the updates and photo. I knew there was snow up there, it's just hard to tell how much snow/ice is still on that northeast aspect. Guess we'll find out the old-fashioned way :-)

I'll post tomorrow with conditions if anyone's still interested.

How was it up there Nick?

Broadway and Kiener's both had a good amount of snow on them; very little of the snow that fell last week has melted. Mostly it's just blown around and made for fairly wintry conditions. Not a lot of ice, just snow, but we used crampons for about 95% of the climb and descent (North Face, also quite snowy).

Lamb's Slide also has 6-12" of blown snow on it, over ice that varies between bullet hard and too brittle to get a good purchase. We had to resort to chopping steps in part of it.

I'll try to get pictures up this evening.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
