Description

Loafer's Choice Slab is the first climbing formation encountered when hiking up the climber's trail toward the peak area. There are two routes found here, Dead Meat and Loafer's Choice, both of which are pretty good. There are bolts on top, but you must scramble off the back and down to the south to return to the bottom of the formation.

Getting There

Hike up the tourist trail from the visitor's center (looks like a big smooth dirt golf cart path). At the sign marking the climber's trail headed for the Peak, turn left and head up. The trail curves back left (south) towards Loafer's Choice Slab and the AMC Boulder.
