Larry on the start of Little Fluffy Clouds

Add Photo  Add Comment    Printer View

Description

A classic atypical Haycock line following a featured overhanging arete before pulling onto the face and the topout. Sit start utilizing an under cling with feet smearing on the face, climb the jugs and pinches with big moves and turn the lip with a small feet cut move before slapping up for the lip.

Location

From the clearing between Hanger 18 and Area 51 follow the right fork in the trail towards the Bokow boulder, from here continue down towards the cave trail and break right after about 100 yards, the boulders should be on your right.

Protection

3-4 pads, the landing follows the angle of the arete so at any time you are not more than 4 feet off the ground.

This problem is my favorite long, overhanging with holds, not a feature climb rated V4-5 out of all of the main diabase areas (Mount Gretna and surrounding areas, Governor's Stable and all the areas at Haycock). It is rare to have so many moves on diabase in a row on actual good holds.
