BETA PHOTO: Bouldering Cave at Liberty Park

Description

Basalt bouldering cave in Liberty park, right near downtown Spokane.
The cave isn't very big, but the angle is perfect and there are a few good problems.

Watch out for loose rocks, most of it is solid but the closer you get to the outside edges the lower the rock quality.

Getting There

Approach time: 1 minute or less.

Park at the west lot, by the playground equipment/swings and look south, you should be able to see the cave from the parking area.

This is the park that you can see to the south from the Hamilton exit off of I-90.

To get there take 3rd avenue east to a right on Madelia then head west on Liberty Park Place.

This "cave" was actually a great depression make work project. They were going to tunnel to the other side. The center is pretty clean (cause we cleaned it) and the outside walls could become just as clean.

My friends and I always called this place "The Ghetto Cave." Good bouldering and a cool roof route.
