Does anyone know what the current status of last chance canyon is? I am heading home to NM from South Korea for a vacation and was hoping to take the family there for a few days of camping and climbing. Last I saw it was supposed to be reopened in the fall of 2012 but i have not been able to confirm if this happened or not.

I read this from the USDA web page which seems very promising. Has there been any attempt to clean and or re-bolt the area? Before I left for Korea last year I asked the rangers in the local area if they needed any help with trail maintenance and they said no. Are their any current reconstitution projects in the works for the area?

It's open, fortunatly the fire didn't affect the area too much. All the bolts and rock are fine. The trails are the same as they were before the fire.
