The LVCLC will be hosting an open General Meeting on Wednesday, April 30th at Mountain Crest Park on the Southwest Corner of Durango and Lone Mountain.

This will be a great opportunity for community input into the efforts of the LVCLC as well as the discussion of things such as the progress made in the BLM's "Resource Management Plan Fixed Anchor Amendment."

We hope to see all of you there and look forward to an engaging discussion.

Isn't the time for "community input" (scoping meetings, etc) long over? As far as "progress made in the BLM's 'Resource Management Plan Fixed Anchor Amendment'"...? This is the same fixed anchor (ie. bolting) plan that we were told in Dec 2012 would be completed by end of Jan 2014? Progress is relative.

7pm sounds good to me...but I don't see a time listed. Will Cliven Bundy supporters be there? Can't wait...sounds like a great way to ring in the month of May. BLM hors d'oevres for one and all!

I hope discussion of the progress will lead to furthering a reasonable plan for this area. I have heard that there are three being considered, one of which is more prohibitive and includes chopping of existing "bolt-intensive routes" in wilderness areas.

Cassondra, not true. Nick can chime in if he chooses, but NONE of the plans have any bolt chopping included. There is a very controversial plan by the Park Service for Christmas Tree Pass being argued about now that would remove what they consider bolt intensive routes in that area, but nothing like that has been proposed for RR. I remain optimistic about the RR plan. We learned last night that the RR plan could be out for public comment as early as later this month with public meetings potentially scheduled for June.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
