Land Ho!

Note: New route moratorium area MORE INFO >>>

Land Ho! is a really nice moderate route in a great spot way up on the hill.

Start on the slabby ledge right of the corner clip the first bolt on the wall and head right until you find a path of holds heading up to a ledge. Scamper left on the ledge to a few fun moves on jugs to the chains hanging in the corner. Have a seat up there, its a great view.

In the big corner right of Ill Gotten Booty (5.9+), this route climbs the weakness up the face to the right of the corner.

7 bolts to chains.

This route is wonderful, has an interesting technical crux down low which leads to a few other through provoking moves up higher. All the moves on this climb are enjoyable and its positioning couldn't be better. Great Climb!

Good climb, with a memorable "look" up from the bottom, and the unusual possibility (at Rumney) of actually getting to the top of something. Moves not quite as interesting as Junco.
Well-protected after clip the 2nd bolt, provided the belayer is anchored.
hint: coming to the top, think about the best bet for topping out, not just clipping the anchor bolts.

For overall value- between the good holds, unique moves, airy exposure and low traffic - this is one of the best 5.8's on the mountain. Keep going after clipping the chains, top out for one of the best views of the Baker River Valley

Just about every hanger on this climb are spinners. Didn't have a wrench with me but if you're headed up there and see this, they need a good tightening.
