Description Suggest change

Fun crag, loaded with moderates and nicely featured limestone. La Selva is a great place to start to get a feel for the rock climbing in this area especially if one prefers the lower and more moderate grades.

There are around 25 routes in this sector ranging from 3+ to 6c+.

La Selva is located roughly in the middle of the eastern slope of the Sierra de Caranga crags which comprise Quirós. Notable for having a large gully running adjacent to its left side. Also has some bushes in its middle.

Welcome to the jungle!

Getting There Suggest change

From El Llano, head uphill on the road following the sign pointing to Perueño.

Take a left to the Fuente del Ruiseñor (nightingale fountain) where one can fill a water bottle. Follow the path behind the fountain up and at the split, go to the right, uphill.

This approach gains most of its elevation until one is just below the level of the base of La Selva. The path then goes parallel above fields and has rock walls and fences en route to the crag.

Takes around 15 or 20 minutes from El Llano (where it may or may not be possible to park a car).
