Description
When conditions are right, the visual simplicity of this frozen waterfall gives it an almost Zen-like aesthetic. Though short, Korizaka (which means "ice slope" in Japanese) is one of the prettier ice falls in the park. Smooth sandstone faces on either side frame ice that forms a single smooth sheet. In addition, a beautifully flat frozen pool sits at the bottom and is excellent for belaying.
Location
On the Wyalusing State Park side (driver's right if heading towards the river and railway) of county highway X, roughly halfway between State Park Ln. and the point where county X crosses the railroad tracks. A sandstone road-cut will be seen on the right just before the climb is reached. It is easily visible from the road.
