Description

The obvious crack / ramp in the broken area of the 1st buttress between the big roof and Tony's Tango.

It is a good beginner's outing. The bolts at the top allow a wide variety of toprope adventures.

John, Kindegarten Crack (5.4) is the shadowed corner on the left side of the photograph The shadowed corner in the center of the photo is the Sunshine Dihedral (5.6).

Right you are Phil, doesn't that Sunshine D. have a little squeeze action at the top?

Dang! Sorry about that. You're quite right! I'll fix.

Yeah MossMan it necks down near the top. Both Kindergarten and SD are great climbs to put a budding young rock rat on.
It's funny that this is called "Sunshine Dihedral" as it is almost always dark and more of a flared chimney than a corner.

Excellent climb for brand new climbers and getting people into crack climbing. First climb I ever did, and first free solo that I've done as well setting up a toprope on.

Great climb for beginners, it can also be extended to the top by climbing 2 more ~5.5 pitches and a nice corner (5.6?) topout.
