Mount Kenya is a twin summit massif with a season for each summit. Batian (17,058 ft) is the highest of the rabbit ears; it's regular route is north facing and best done in June & July. The south side regular route of Nelion (17,021 ft) is warmest during January & February. During Nelion season, a three hour traverse can be done from Nelion to Batian and finally back again to the Nelion rappel route.
