Keeping metal hardware warm?

So, it's fast approaching ice season in Colorado. This year promises to be good, assuming that you're willing to wait in line for up to 7 hours to climb a single pitch. I totally am.

So, while waiting, obviously I get cold. I have hand warmers and overboots. I wear thick socks and long underwear. The trouble though, is that my Prince Albert seems to get really cold. Especially if I have it out.

It's just not practical to leave it behind. Any ideas?

Thanks.

This has always worked for me: Use a battery and connect the + lead to one end of your Albert and the - lead to the other end...gotta experiment to find the right battery...some can use AAA's , but I typically start with a Marine deep cycle (but that's just me)

If I will be soloing any WI4 or above, I typically pre-warm by plugging into some 240 prior to leaving the house...

Does that also work for time travel?

Why not just slip a glove over the metal and attached member, then stuff a hand warmer or two inside. Wouldn't that work?

Might have to be a pretty big glove, but that would depend on you of course.

nicelegs - not sure about time travel, but once you jack into that 240, time will lose all meaning...

Bill - Tried that as well. It can work, but my partner kept getting creeped out when he'd catch me belaying with that "hand" while eating my sandwhich

best thing to keep it warm is a d stab in the f box.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
