I am trying to get into kayaking this summer, but have no idea where to start. I would like to just run rivers the idea of doing tricks and everything does not really appeal to me at this point. I have some whitewater canoeing experience but no real kayaking besides flat water. I am 6'2" 220 lb. Any boat suggestions to fit my needs that i can find used for a good price? Are there any sites like MP for kayaking? Any information will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Keep an eye on craigs list. You will be able to find a good boat there. I would not pay more than $500 for a used boat and you should be able to find one to come with a skirt or float bags. Given your size just make sure it's a large boat for whatever model you come across. The medium size will not be large enough for you. If you have any specific questions just send me an email.

Have the same deal! I need a kayaking buddy because I don't really have an idea about where to start / I need motivation but I'm def excited to start

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
