I heard the Rangers give you a little hand written guide. Maybe someone has one and will scan it or you could call the park. I don't think you'll find very detailed info though. It's one of those places people want to stay 'wild'.
I've only hiked on Katahdin so I can't offer you any more info than that save to say be careful and wear a helmet. Loose rock is plentiful.
I haven't climbed the Diamonds but they are the closest thing to the Pond and have some moderate routes. Not sure if they are in the "guidebook' up at the ranger station, even if it was you probably wouldn't get much more then a general idea of where the route are. I recommend just going up there, ask the ranger at Chimney Pond to point you in the direction of where the cliffs are and just go for it. The climbing is good and fun. If you're up for a full day and some real NE alpine climbing do the Armadillo. It is a great climb. If you want more info shoot me an e-mail david at climberism dot com
