Gonna be in Nashville for work and have a morning free (17th) to do a little sport climbing. Any locals have any recommendations of what to hit up? Looking for something that won't be sun blasted obviously and I'd like to do some sport leads. Petty much novice level.

King's Bluff is probably your best bet near Nashville. All routes have dog-tags on them with the grade, and they are all bolted.

Nashville has limestone, which is unusual for the east coast, but it isn't exactly a destination spot. Most people head to the Obed, the Red, Chattanooga, or somewhere else on weekends.

Definitely wish I had time to hit up Chattanooga....next time. Thanks for the beta!

Kings Bluff is a great resource for Nashville but does not represent the great sandstone climbing that Tennessee has. Head east if you get the chance.

I will definitely be back to Tennesee to climb. Doing some research in the area got me all stoked on the area. Checked out Kings Bluff and it was just what I had time for this morning:) Gotta love that 5 minute descent approach!!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
