Hey everyone! Just wondering where your favorite places to climb in Southern AZ are. For that matter where do you like to go climbing period. Anything within 8 hours works for me!

Flagstaff for the summer, or sierra nevadas's which is really doable for a long week end

Stronghold either east or west down south. Mendoza Canyon for some long & a bit run out climbs. Granite Mountain in Prescott. Paradise Forks for in your face cracks.

Top of Mt. Lemmon. Summit Crags: Rap Rock lots of moderate to 10 trad, Ravens mostly 10+ to 12 sport with some moderate trad as well, The Fortress has a ton of easier multipitch sport as well as some single pitch stuff also some moderate trad, lots of super steep 12s on the Orifice Wall. The Steep has mostly 10-12 sport, Southpark mostly 10-11 sport, Reef of Rock if you like adventure.

Mid Mountain is good also but you will need to chase the shade as it gets pretty warm in the sun.

Paradise Forks if you like short crack climbs. Will still need to chase the shade. Usually can find someone heading there on the weekend.

Enchanted Tower NM. Mostly 10-12 sport on steep rock but has some easier climbing. 6.5 hours unless you like to take chances with getting caught speeding. Talk of people going this weekend.

Taquitz and Suicide in S. Cal. Not sure what the driving time is.

Rocks and Ropes in Tucson is the place to meet partners. Where did you move to?

let me add joshua tree and red rock canyon to the list. kinda far though, also not summer destinations.

but yeah, mount lemmon should have (almost) everything you may want. the only things it really lacks are good cracks and longer multipitch.

For a cool spot to climb, I go to the Dr's Office in Oak Creek Canyon, West Clear Creek near Strawberry and of course, Winslow Wall/East Clear Creek. From Tucson, should be good weekend getaways.

Sorry I haven't been around to view all the helpful responses. I've been traveling quite a bit lately. I move around fairly often. It's good to get out and see the world!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
