Description Suggest change

Jungturm is the most dramatic and captivating tower on the Trifels ridge and is also the most difficult to summit by its easiest route. Its known as a true Südpfalz classic and appears on the front cover of a popular guidebook for the area.

Jungturm is home to well over a dozen routes, both sport and trad. The easiest line to the top is 5.6/5.7 and there are plenty of harder options up to 5.13.

Getting There Suggest change

From Annweiler follow the obvious brown signage to Berg Trifels which is located just east of town. Continue along the narrow, winding road to a large parking area at its terminus. Parking here costs €1.50.

Jungturm can be reached in less than 15 minutes by following the major trail heading southeast from the parking lot. This is the opposite direction most of the tourists who want to see Trifels castle will be flocking. After five minutes the trail will begin to take you past several towers. Look for the most significant one in the area. Bringing a picture or two may help in confirming which tower is which.
