| Did my first aid Climb the other day. ( Followed my buddy up " The Prow" 5.7 A2 6 pitch on Cathedral Ledge NH) I HATED it, until I got to the top. Now I cant wait to do it again. I am looking to get a set of ascenders. I used the Petzls and liked them. What are the advantages/disadvantages? What are some other good ascenders? | FLAG |

| The blue/yellow petzl ascenders are pretty much the standard. Some people use the BD e'nforces, but many people have been disappointed by them. I personally use a yellow petzl and a gri gri. I find it easier because I've never been coordinated enough to get the jogger ryhthm down. Plus, I carry a gri on aid, so it saves a piece of gear. Look in the aid section for a how to. | FLAG |

| +1 Ascender and GriGri. "Froggy Method" Also makes for easy rappelling if your rope snags, haul bag gets caught, etc. | FLAG |
