| Great to hear. I have experience with TBI (traumatic brain injury) - was in a coma for 2 days, had to re-learn math, how to hold a spoon, and most of my basketball skills switched from my left hand to my right. It also put me in my own world for a bit. If any of Jay's family or friends would like to hear about some of the challenges, overcoming them, and issues they may deal with given their own supporting roles - I am happy to share, PM if need be. Again, great news and best to Jay. | FLAG |

| | Somewhere in Eldorado Canyon, Jay took me up to some krazy 'trad-sport' climb. He led up the dihedral then up the super-thin slab flawlessly. I was really impressed! Submitted By: Glen Charnoski on Aug 16, 2011

| Hey Glen, This is the climb you are talking about... Heartbreaker [aka Never Cry Wolf] Jay is improving a lot, but it will be a long time before he is "better". He is working really hard with the therapists, but he has no short term memory yet. He almost seems like himself, but is still a little confused. Jay can now hold a conversation that almost makes you forget that anything is wrong. But on occasion he will say something outrageous. A painful reminder, but also hilarious... I asked Jay if his mother was coming to visit (I knew she was) and he told me "Nah, she probably went climbing today." Thanks for all the positive thoughts and well wishes. It will mean a lot to him... He hasn't seen Mountain Project since the accident, but I'm sure he'll be able to soon. | FLAG |

| I have been visiting with Jay a lot lately. Almost every time he is a little better than the day before. Jay is working hard with all the therapists and is really looking forward to coming home. We have been watching some climbing videos and he is reading some of the climbing mags... Last night Cindy and I both visited and Jay got to look at Mt. Project for the first time since the accident. He seemed pretty excited to see some of the fun climbs that we have done together... If you read this Jay, Keep up the hard work! You are doing great. I can't wait till you are all better and we can go climbing. | FLAG |
