| Update as of 5:00 pm today: "Jay has still not woken up but he is continuing to follow commands. He will definitely be airlifted back to Colorado tomorrow and we will let people know about visitation as soon as we have specifics." Update from yesterday: "Jay had a "peg tube" put in which is a feeding tube right to his stomache. He came out of surgery this afternoon and all went well. It decreases the chances of infection. He has been doing well this evening with continued response to commands, as opening his eyes, wiggling his toes, and sticking his tongue out. It looks like the plan is to have him airlifted back to Colorado on Fri so he can have more visitors to provide more stimuli to keep him active. He has been trying to get out of bed,..." | FLAG |

| Cindy, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but there is more good news from 2 hours ago to share: "He made huge strides his last night in MD. When I took his mitt off his right hand he quickly removed his left mitt, oxygen sensor, and neck collar. He showed amazing dexterity. Also when I was telling the nurse Jay is strong and will recover faster than anyone thought possible, he grunted a uh huh in agreement. Jay is hearing and processing what we say and is working hard to respond!" | FLAG |

Jay's friend and Lip Lord teamate Mike Hill and his wife Julie have set up a For the Benefit Of account in Jay's name. You can go into any Wells Fargo or Wachovia and ask to donate to the FBO account for Jay Eggleston. Therapy Posted 1 day ago Jay is currently getting occupational, physical, and speech therapy twice daily. His therapists seem good and we are hopeful we will see improvements soon. | Improving Posted 3 hours ago Jay is making big improvements! He is learning to swallow and they have let him start eating ice chips. They asked if there was a food that might motivate Jay and for those of you who know him the answer is ice cream! So they will let Jay try a little ice cream tomorrow. Other big news is that Jay's daughter Kaya will get to visit him for the first time tomorrow. For anyone who is interested in better understanding where Jay is at I will soon attach an article that helps. Jay is currently in level 3. | FLAG |

| | Jay's last climb before the accident.... Submitted By: Mark Roth on Aug 8, 2011
| Jay is making improvements. His daughter has been able to visit, and even his dog. He is able to speak a little, and even take short assisted walks. But he has a long way to go... Please keep him in your thoughts. He is fighting hard... | FLAG |

| Jay is making great progress. He is totally conscious during the day and is eating solid food... His long term memory is pretty much intact. He knows who everyone is and can identify climbs in photos... He can't really remember what happened earlier in the day, but his condition is starting to seem very hopeful. He now has a DVD player in his room, so I asked if he wanted to watch some climbing movies? He got very serious and focused when he asked me " DO YOU HAVE SOME?" I will bring him some... | FLAG |
