If you had two weeks in January to climb ice and alpine routes, where would you go? Coming from New England, flying or driving, ideally visiting a friend in Ouray during the course of the trip. Preference is for longer scenic alpine routes over ice cragging.

Canmore Alberta. Been there a bunch and it's amazing!

if you are ready to drop Ouray, try Gaspesie, Quebec ! World class ice and possible driving distance!

Cody, Canmore, or even Ouray/Silverton for the alpine type of climbing.

If your willing to drop the visit to Ouray, Anchorage and Valdez areas would keep you pretty busy. Their not alpine climbs (elevation of 1500' max) by any means, but not your typical cragging scene either. Check out alaskaiceclimbing.com for a brakedown of whats avalible.

To make this a bit more clear, this trip in particular is going to be out west, and will definitely include Ouray to visit a friend. Canmore is on the list just not this year.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
