Description
James Brown Boulder is a great destination for a quick bouldering session or a cooldown after a visit to wild rock. I have bouldered here several times while it has been raining, and the one side of the boulder remains dry for the most part.
Getting There
Coming from the Aspen side, this is about 11 miles out of Aspen and a mile up the road from Lincoln Creek. There is a small pullout on the right hand side of the road. The stream is very close here as fisherman use this pullout as well. Cross the street and find a good trail (same trail that goes to Wild Rock). The trail splits take the left turn and follow underneath a guy wire. Keep heading down the trail for about 100 yards and you will run right into the boulder.
