Description

This wall is one of the most secluded sections of the Endless wall. There are not a whole bunch of high quality routes here, but its worth the hike to climb the Mechanical Bull (13a). Most routes are 5.11 to 5.12 with an equal distribution of trad and sport lines.

Getting There

Take the ladders to the cirque and then hike for ten minutes along the base of the cliff (climbers left). Total approach time from the Cirque ladders is 10 minutes. You'll know you're close when you pass by the obvious 10' "Stalagtite" that is imbedded in the ground.

This is the obvious extension of the bolted crack, Shotgun (12b). After climbing Shotgun, get it all back at a sit-down rest beneath the roof. Place a red or gold camalot in the back of the roof before doing a cool, reachy maneuver over the lip. After getting established over the roof on the upper headwall, you have quite a few gear options and some great jugs for recovering. You'll need full recovery for the final boulder problem, which takes crimps, sidepulls, and slopers up over a little ...[more]   Browse More Classics in WV
