Best climbing pants EVER
Thanks for posting this. I had the pleasure of meeting Jack in Cham and spending a couple days climbing with him and getting burgers at Elevation afterward. It was a touching account of his final day. Jon H

Thanks for putting this up Jon. I never met Jack, but you can tell he was a good man by the way you and others talk about him. I hope it's healing for you to write about it too. SteveZ

Thanks Jon! Sorry for your loss. Must have been very hard. I saw Jack at Camp Bird two days before and a week before that had a clinic with him at the festival. The community really lost someone special. Thank you so much for writing this and thanks to Dane for posting it! Cale Hoopes

Thanks for the report. I'm sure it was hard to get out in the open. The thing about accidents is, there accidents. Generally i like to see the accident reports to learn from others mistakes. Seems like everyone did everything they could to make the best outcome. I too have met Jack and climbed with him on several instances. Solid individual and climber. A true loss to the community... My navigator keeps me from getting lost
Thank you for sharing this, Jon. My condolences.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jack once. As I was tying in next to him, I recall thinking, "Holy shit, that's Jack Roberts!" I expected so much gravitas and bravado. But, he was just a guy out having fun climbing...so chill and easy to talk to. Truly, a great man who will be missed by so many.

Thank you to all, most especially to Pam and Dane. We have had numerous chats about the accident and life, and felt it was appropriate to put this out there. I didn't cry writing this, but I'm tearing up reading everyone's comments .

Thank you.

A sad loss for our community. Thanks for sharing. I met Jack once, casually, in Ouray he was a friend of a friend. Super nice guy. Jon, try not to beat yourself over the head for decisions you made. You did the best you could in a surreal, extraordinary situation. Kudo's to you for trying your best. Condolences to you and Jack's family. Just Solo
