  • Description 

    This area has a large and extensive roof system that no routes penetrated unti lthe 1990's. THis main attraction is 'Screaming Eagle', the biggest, wildest and hardest roof at the Gap.

    Getting There 

    Further up the trail from previous walls.

    Climbing Season

    For the Northeast Ridges and Valleys area.

    Full Tilt 5.5 4b 13 IV+ 11 MS 4a  PA : Northeast Ridges and Valley... : ... : j. Screaming Eagle Area
    Scramble up to a large grassy ledge below the Screaming Eagle roof. Climb to the left. This is the "full tilt". Turn the corner and continue up the face. There is a lower rap tree, but it's best to continue to better trees further on up.Best for the belayer to tie-in to a tree. The "tilted" section of rock is at least 50 feet from the ground and if the leader fell and blew a placement, they could easily take their belayer with them....[more]   Browse More Classics in PA
