The tricky gear at the bottom is poor -- it's a C3...

I couldn't find the bolts, are they at the bottom? The gear on the bottom seems really tricky, good after that.

Sorry, Ben, my fault with the original description -- there are no bolts on this climb. Have edited description accordingly.

TRed this route from the anchors of "The Dogs..." Fairly fun. I didn't see many friendly gear placements on the bottom 20' or so of the route, but then, i don't have have a ton of trad experience.

Having now climbed this at last I completely agree that the lower part of this climb protects poorly. The photo shows the gear I placed, but I found the climbing to be easy and so wasn't worried about falling -- would not recommend leading this lower part if your uncomfortable with poor gear, or would recommend a different start. The upper crack is wonderful and the climbing is more like 5.9.

This is truly the best climb in Dogtown, thought that Dogs Must be crazy was fun, but this is awesome. Little tricky pro down low, would have loved a bolt instead, but the rest is solid. Thanks DS and CC for this awesome addition!!!

This is my favorite too, Laurel (well, and Salt & Pepper), but really fun crack.
