Does anyone know if there is a raptor closure at Devil's Head right now and if so, what climbing crags does it affect.

I've looked into this in the past and found that the original closure notice only applied to the crags off Jackson creek road. I don't know if this is still in place. The main Devils head area is not impacted (east/west valley, lower west). But to be sure you can always call the south platte ranger office at 303-275-5610. Here's the only notice I've ever seen posted about nesting closures:

fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DO…

There are no nesting closure notices online for 2015 for the the area.

All areas in Tod's book are outside of the raptor closure.
I think there may even be an old thread discussing the actual location of the closure which I belive is on the far east side of the mountain.

We camped/climbed there last weekend and went to Wipeyur and Chicken Head. All that down there is open. The ranger was saying some areas were closed maybe up near the tower but I am not really familiar with that stuff and we weren't going there so we didn't really think about it much. He was saying he had to turn some climbers away a few weeks back.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
