Climbing has been going on here for many decades. Nice cliffs. I know bouldering is getting bigger up there so if anyone knows get it posted because this area can use some traffic. I have the old guide and will be posting out of that as I get to it.
Having grown up in Eastern Missouri, I explored and climbed a lot in MO and Iowa as a kid. I climbed at Palisade Kepler when I was a teenager (by way of knowing about the Iowa Mountaineers climbing there). Although it's a small area, the Dolomite is fine!
I really enjoy this little state park for its climbing, especially because it is so close to Iowa City/Cedar Rapids. It can get pretty dirty and stay wet after a rain, but such are the challenges of climbing in Iowa. I put up a beta photo of the Outlook recently that might be of some help to get an idea of the area. Also, here is a partially finished book in PDF format about bouldering at Palisades that I ran across. Enjoy! www.geocities.com/midwestclimber/pal/Palisades_Kepler_Bouldering.pdf
