BETA PHOTO: The Northern section of the main crag of Back Bowd...

Description

Back Bowden lies in a sheltered valley. The crag faces west. Some of the crag is very open while the more demanding climbs can be found closer to the forest in a more secluded setting.

The boulders below the main crag offer may fine problems of all grades.

When the close by Bowden Doors feels busy you will almost certainly find peace here.

Sometimes referred to as Colour Heugh.

Getting There

From the East turn off the A1 at Belford and follow the B6349 for 2.5 miles, then take a right fork towards Old Hazelrigg. After about 1/2 a mile the road starts to drop down to the west - the crag lies to your right in a small valley.

At the obvious fluting break through the overhang for a spectacular finish.Although technically not too demanding, this climb still demands respect. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in International
