OSP village with climbing craig in the background.

Description

Near the Italian border you will find the picturesque Mediterranean village of Osp. Just above the village you will find the first rock climbing crag, suited almost over the roofs of some of the houses in Osp.
After a short walk you reach the rest of the Osp area. About 500 metres from the village you will find Misja Pec, well established as one of the best crags for rock climbers that are looking for steep quality Limestone routes. Misja Pec offers about 60 routes above 8a, and among the 175 routes only a handfull is easy.
In the village you will find a nice camping ground and if you fly to Trieste you will reach Osp in an hour.
About 5 kilometres from Osp another crag, Crni Kal, offers nice rock climbing on good rock. It has a pleasant sheltered position, flat ground at the foot and a wide view of the hillside of the Istria and of the Gulf of Trieste. This crag is a nice place for families with children.
All together these three areas offers 600 routes. Suited near the beach, with several towns in half an hours distance and with a lot of things to see as caves, castle's and nature, you will not
get bored.
It is possible to climb during the whole year though November to February could be cold and wet.

Getting There

Best by car or motor bike.
