Has anyone had any success replacing the manufacturer supplied insoles in La Sportiva (or similar) mountaineering boots? I am looking at several insulated insoles to try and make the boots a bit warmer. Companies like Sole offer Thinsulate foot beds and make claims of dramatic improvements in warmth over factory supplied insoles. Can anyone confirm the validity of these claims or is it all just smoke and mirrors?
