Those injuries don't sound "moderate" until you consider the fall. Wow! I'm very glad that he is doing as well as he is. |
Steve spoke on the telephone for an hour with the AAC Book Club earlier this month. He is truly a classy guy and one BA climber. I wish him all the best and a fast recovery. |

sucks...get better Steve! |
Get well Steve! Garden angel is working double time when you take a nearly 100' and live to tell. |
Yikes. Hope Steve heals well and fast. That's a monster fall. |
Get well Steve! Steve is really a great guy, super down to earth. He takes time to talk to regular climbers and he's sincerely interested in what everyone else at the crag is up to. Here's to a speedy recovery! |

That is awful. I hate to hear these stories. I talked briefly with him once and found him welcome to conversation and people. Very nice guy, I wish him a full and speedy recovery. |

I just read Steve's new book, "Beyond the Mountain." It is brilliant, even though I knew most of the stories through his other writings in mags and as told in others' books. In BTM, House describes the fallout with Bruce Miller during their epic on Nanga Parbat. Basically, Miller saves his life by turning them back and House is furious and depressed. It is good to see that time has healed that partnership and they went climbing again. Sorry to hear that Steve is injured. I was looking forward to meeting him around Smith Rock, as I will be a long-commuting semi-local (from Idaho) this year. Best wishes Steve. |

Best wishes during your recovery and come back. |
