|I have the second edition e-book. I had to print it up & take it to the creek in a binder, as I don't have a portable device to take to the cliff. It has a few routes & crags the first edition doesn't have, so in that sense it's worth having. Especially to find routes away from the crowds that all have the first edition.
It still irritates me that people publish guidebooks without giving latitude & longitude for the various climbs- this book is no exception, you're left sorting through an array of confusing directions to find out where to park & where the route you're after is at. Also, the gear beta is still 99% in Friends, at most 5% of the climbers there use these cams. It's hilarious to walk around the cliffs hearing the debates raging over what a #3 friend means in cama-speak. After the first couple of climbs you learn to ignore what the book says (frequently wrong anyway) & just look at the crack. Or better yet just ask the person who led it ahead of you what they used.
I give it 3 stars out of 5.
