Imagine my surprise!!

When I open the latest issue of climbing and the editor is talking about my old harness. Well not "mine" but one similar to a harness I bought new in about 86'. The Bod by Chouinard was the shit in it's day and I sported it with pride. I've had a grundel of harnesses before and since but that one was one of my favorites.

I've still got 3 of these from '87.

I am still climbing in one, although I have replaced the old one after a certain well known climber had his harness fail. It's comfortable, compresses nicely in the pack and it's not like it is restricting my climbing ability! I like the Alpine Bod for ice climbing, too. I admit I was surprised that the newer harnesses are lighter. I keep looking for a replacement...
