Ok, so I had begun to think the Mt. Project forum had become mostly dedicated to "I lost this, I lost that", please return for 6 pack of beer blah blah blah. And I just thought, dang, why are so many people out there idiots?

Now I'm THE IDIOT (has this tactic already been done? Not that I'm not an idiot ;-)). I wouldn't even post this based on the complete hypocrisy & embarrassment of the whole thing, and just go buy a new cam instead, except for one reason. The cam that couldn't be retrieved used to belong to my good friend John, who passed away, and it has special meaning to me. It was left protecting the crux pitch of Mystery In the Desert at Cochise Stronghold. Yellow Metolius with pretty rainbow taping.

My friend loved Cochise, and we had had a grand time on Ewephoria 3 yrs ago, so I suspect he wanted to hang out at that scene for a bit. But I would love to get this cam back if possible.

What's in it for you? I am traveling back to CO over Christmas, and as some know, there are great microbreweries along the way. I will come back to Phoenix bearing some growlers of Odells 90 Schillings-or, if you get the cam in time, put in your odells request (Two Growlers filled with BEER), and along with that the offer to be a belay bitch on some effed up project that you can't get anyone to belay you on, or I will just belay so you can get your lead on. That's all I got, but hopefully.... ?

And I will never think of people as idiots again who post about losing, leaving, or getting stuff stuck, etc. And if you have recently posted such a thing, I apologize for my thoughts. ;-)

We can probably get the cam for you this weekend. I just need to convince my friends to go out and do mystery of the desert which will be no problem. I will not ask for nothing in return just let me know where to send it too. I will let you know if I have it or not.

I climbed Mystery yesterday and snagged that cam. I don't need anything in return, I'm glad it will get back to you.

I'm heading out of town for a couple weeks starting this Thursday, but if you will be around Tucson I can leave it at Rocks & Ropes with your name on it.

Haha Geir! I don't know if Angel considers me all that nice at the moment. I looked out my window Sunday morning through a sheet of ice but couldn't see the Stronghold bc it was grey, rainy and freezing! So I sent him a text: "Maybe we could just buy her a new cam..". LOL!

Hey Everyone-sorry that I didn't respond until now, got a little buried in work before the holidays-wow, Clay, THANKS SO MUCH!!!!! And Angel & Daryl, you two are awesome for considering it... It was really cold this weekend-Clay, I'm glad you didn't suffer and had a good layering system going on, ;-) That definitely works to leave it at Rocks & Ropes for Marcy & Geir to grab for me.

So let's climb sometime! I always bring good beer...
