Idaho's Borah Peak

Has anyone climbed Idaho's Borah Peak? I'm spending a week at City of Rocks this summer and adding a nice steep hike/climb onto the trip looks like fun. Any trip reports? |

Thanks - I read that - was hoping to find someone who has done it recently. |

I did it a couple of years ago in July. Once you get above tree line it's a beautiful hike/scramble. Below tree line it's steep trail and kinda sucks. Depending on when you go and what the snow was like that year, you might want to take an axe for the snow bridge. The trail can be hard to follow at one point, but frankly you can just go whatever way you want and it all leads to the snow bridge. I stayed high. Camping in the parking lot was nice enough too. I can send you some pictures if you want. |

I climbed Mt. Borah in late September with a little snow on the ground. It wasn't technical, but about a dozen novices not used to 3rd class turned around on chickenout ridge. Here's some photos plus.google.com/photos/1127… |
