Maybe I'm missing something, but this route does not seem like 5.13a, as the guidebook suggests. Usually, on routes of this grade I can envision myself pulling the moves (such as on RubberMan), but I can't even SEE the moves on Ice. Could this be harder than Rubber Man?--maybe 13b/c?

jay,i dont know much about the rating of this route just what i heard from my buds.(i had moved to colorado) i can only imagine it is super hard. especially since it goes into peyote blues which aint "easy". Rich ,would ya care to give us your take?jay, can you put "Rubber Man" in the data base? or is it already?

For those who haven't seen Ice, it goes like this: Blank moves up a typical DL frictionless wall (probably V8), into the crux of a 5.12b (Peyote Blues), higher still into the crux of a 5.12a (Acid Rock). Ice is the line of strength up one of the most impressive and unrelenting walls at DL. An amazing effort by Dave Groth. Go ahead, try the start moves.

Jay, Dave G. says that Ice is most likely 13b. Ice is a hard route. Dave also rated Dyslexia 13b/c, and some call it 14a.
