I have a car, you have the ropes! Brooklyn/NYC

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend and I have been climbing at a gym this past winter and would love to learn to climb outdoors. We're not really the lesson/private guide types, but we'd love to learn the ropes outdoors from some cool chums looking to escape the city in search of good rocks. Our car can fit 5, so friends are welcome!

We've mostly been top roping, so we're hoping someone can show us around outdoors in exchange for a free ride to-from wherever your favorite climbing spot outside of NYC is... Probably within a 3 hour drive.

About us:
I'm a photographer among other freelance things, he's a coffee roaster and a drummer (we can throw some bags of coffee into the deal...!). We love getting out of the city and into nature,and we love animals (dogs are also welcome to join), snacks, and a good sense of humor. I climb something like 5.9 and the dude climbs 5.10-11 We hope to hear from you!

This Facebook group could get you a few nibbles if you cast a line there.

Otherwise Meetup groups like Rock & Ice or Climb and Hang could get some response if you suggest a meetup.

I'll put you guys on my shortlist and will let you know if I'll be posting for an outing on Meetup. Might be 2 or 3 weeks before I can get away.
