BETA PHOTO: The Hueco Wall on the South side of Mt. Baldy on t...

Description

This boulder is to the South of Mt. Baldy and to the Southeast of the huge boulder with "HydraCrack" and to the Southwest of the Buffalo Boulder in the gallery to the East of the large, prominent spire on the South side of Baldy. Identify this wall with the hueco right in the middle. Landings are not very good at this wall, but the "Hueco Problem" is excellent and worth doing.

Getting There

See directions for accessing the South side of Mt. Baldy and the description above for finding the Hueco Wall.

This problem is on the boulder behind and to the left of the Hueco Boulder and climbs perfect big edges up a long steep wall. Classic in my opinion. We're not sure what it's called so we just call it crimp ladder....[more]   Browse More Classics in SD

Hey Greg,

I have a couple of questions. Is there a problem on the arete to the right of the Hueco problem? And what is the name/grade of the problem on the over hanging face that's on the west side, right of the hueco problem, of the Hueco wall boulder?

Hey Gary. Sorry, I missed your questions. I don't know if there is a problem on the arete. I've never done it. If it looks climbable, chances are it's been done :) As for the problem to the right, I can't remember the name, but I think it was around V2 or 3. Does that sound right? It has some angular semi-sharp holds, right? Sorry, I'm not much help.
