I see a link on many area pages to a guide book but I don't see an obvious way to add one to the area I created.

After you fill out the required fields and submit an Area, navigate to that area page and hover over "Edit Area" at the top of the page. You should be able to choose the "text" option and label it "Guidebook" or something similar.

Kind of an obscure way to do it, but the best way I've found. I wonder if there's an easier way...

For further clarification, on the page you just created, you should see the "Edit Area" link right next to the Kootenay Plains
heading. Hover over it and select "Text."

hmm, your tip is certainly better than having no guide book link at all but it seems it is not exactly what I was looking for. Your method adds a link in the white area below the grey shaded main area description. I have seen on other areas there is a link for 'guide book' in the main grey shaded area description zone. I wonder if anyone else can shed some light on this subject...

Actually there is a "Book" option in that same menu that is better to use than "Text"!

Under my edit area menu I have the option to add Area, comment, event, photo, photo(copy), text, but not book. odd.

I'm not seeing it either, Nick...Maybe a sign that it should be more obvious?

Well for some reason only Admins could add books. Not sure why we did that... so I removed that restriction. Try again and you should find it.

Sorry for the confusion!
