How is the approach to the diamond?

Looking to hike up to the diamond in the next week or two, how is the approach, still a lot of snow? Do I need any snow gear still or would I be alright in my approach shoes? Time to start dialing the approach time in. Thanks

Will be up there in a coupla hours. We're not bringing anything more than hiking crampons and lightweight ice axes.

Approach is fine - bring traction or an ice axe if you feel the need. We were fine with trekking poles.

The Diamond itself is actually looking really good - still a little wet high up, but things are melting fast. Give it another 2 weeks - conditions could almost be said to be, "dry"

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
