Along with some cosmetic changes, the "Photos of the Moment" has been turned into a slideshow with a full-screen feature.

If you don't like the photos automatically changing, just pause it. We'll remember you paused it (using a cookie), and it will stay that way for future visits.

This involved complicated coding that should (but might not) work on all browsers/operating systems. Please report bugs here.

IE may cause problems due it's aggressive caching. If things seem wrong, and you're using IE, try this:

(Exact steps depend on your version of IE, but the goal is to delete your temporary internet files and restart).

1. Go to "Safety" and click "Delete Browsing History".
2. Make sure "Temporary Internet Files" is checked. The rest can be unchecked if you want.
3. Click Delete.
4. Close IE. Rebooting your computer at this time may help.
5. Try again.

Me in the Buddha Cave at crumblewood a while ago.
This might be getting out in the weeds...

Really like the changes, however there is one thing that is annoying me at this time. I really do not like how when the picture changes there is a pause and then the caption pops-up.

I feel that being able to quickly flip through the photos without having to wait for this caption pop-up is a something that I really liked before. This allowed me to scan the pictures at the moment very quickly and go back to the ones I liked to see the big photos.

Again, not the biggest issue just something that I really liked before and now is not available.

Otherwise everything else looks really great.

Function over fashion. My newest pair of climbing shoes.
The slide show feature is really neat. Now we finally get to see more photos without digging. They all make me want to go climbing riiiiiiiggggghhhhh. . .. .NOW!

This is a novel auto blocking belay device. I think it works quite well, depending on rope thickness and sheath quality, it belays very smooth. Great to lower with. You gotta love over engineering. $3 at a gear swap!
Hey...... what happened to climbingboulder.com!?

Maybe just me on chrome...

But the orange gear review box seems to be mis-sized compared to the forum posts and other frames on the left side of the home page. Anyone else.

John, it looks fine to me in Chrome. Try clearing your cache/temp internet files, then restart. Changes to the css file might be getting cached.

I do like the slideshow, but also liked being able to click on the photo of the moment and rate it and also see other photos posted under the area or by the user. Is there a way to do this with the new upgrades?

I've always felt that the photographer and the climber (when applicable) should be credited in the Photo of the Moment caption.

I have the same problem in Chrome that John described with the gear review box. I also don't see the caption under the photo anymore, and only see one picture. It doesn't play the slideshow (it isn't paused) and I can't manually tell it to go to the next one.

All the climbs look too hard, is there anyway to increase my ability as to match a given photo shown?

John & Eli, Gear box should be fixed. Not sure about the other Chrome problems.

John & Marcy, the photographer credit is inserted at the end of the title, but often that text is truncated so it will fit on one line.

Kevin, Sorry about the Blackberry - not enough activity there to justify rolling back. Try i.mountainproject.com instead.

Buff, wish I knew the secret.

I opt to turn slide show OFF.

I like being "surprized" by ONE great photo each time I pull up MP.com, sort-of like a special and unique gift.

The slide show option seems to relegate each "great photo" to ordinary pedestrian status...just one of many passing by, etc.

Also, has the photo quality been altered (lessened)?
(Perhaps it's the thick, dominant, black frame.)
