I would like to set up a high-line at the Forks! I am thinking maybe 3 or 4 bolts to secure it on each side. What kind of bolts should I use? I would like to do it over the Golden Pond to keep it less of an impact. How deep is the pond right now (deep enough to jump in?)

I'll take "things I'd give my left arm to bang" for $400, Alex

Forks is bolt-sensitive. If I found four slackline bolts out there, they'd be patched before you could bend over, touch your toes, and shout "Urban Climber!".

Bolt at your own risk. I think highlines have their place but usually the people putting them up are pretty engineering-retarded and bolt-happy. Several have been removed @Red Rock so far.

Sorry to harsh your buzz. Truth, though.

if there's one thing the forks is lacking its natural anchors. 7-8 bolts would be more prudent.

and the gold pond is plenty deep right now you can just dive in head first.

Bolt sensitive? Even if the 3-bolt anchor could be used for a top-rope anchor for a route like Supercrack? There also looks like potential for some bolted sport routes in that area.

Dude go ahead just bolt it up!!! You should probably camp next to those bolts if you want them to stay though...

In all seriousness I call troll.

Yeah first post, eh could be a stupid person with no knowledge of the area. Second post, meh, fail! Clearly troll.

Come on people (trolls), step up your game.

geez.. I was just asking an honest question. I thought it would be fun. I did not realize there was such a big deal about bolts in the forks. Maybe I can find some natural anchors to build the highline anchors. I am sensing sarcasm that the Gold pond is deep enough to fall in. Is there an existing face route near the Supercrack?

Sorry Andy if you are sincere you just asked some very trollish questions. Perhaps you should just be a troll?

Looking out the center cave.

second paragraph under "description" for Paradise Forks

"One distinguishing characteristic of the area is that almost all routes are approached from above by fixing a line and rapping in. Also, there are exactly zero sport climbs at The Forks and just a handful of bolts (I can only think of 7: two sets of anchors in the choss at the White Wall, and the three on Australians At The Forks). The area really lends itself to trad climbing up beautiful, varied crack systems. Rock is bullet-hard, pro is typically bombproof, and friction varies from polished to grippy. Expect stout ratings."

LMAO...

Even with the later replies, this thing is lurking under a bridge somewhere.
