The first half of The Playground that is loacted S of Horsetheif Lake/Hwy 244 and N of the Centennial Trail. Either access through Trail #14 or directly from highway. Ranges from classics on Horsetheif Spire (seen from parking) to 'Almastafa' to 'Madam Mohawk' and 'Forbidden Colors'. Not much of a trail system, may take a while to catch your bearings. Guidebook would help.

Sustained 5.12+ crimper moves the whole way to a redpoint crux at the top. Given the short and flat hike this classic deserves more attention!...[more]   Browse More Classics in SD
