Does anyone have advice on affordable helmet cam options? What do you like/not like about what you have tried? Thanks!

The contour roam is about half the price of the go pro.

Most helmet cam videos give me motion sickness. I just can't watch 'em.

I couldn't get through Blair Witch Project either.

You should get a Google Trekker.

I tried a Contour system and was thoroughly displeased with the mounts. It doesn't matter how good the video/audio is if you don't have a solid mount. Motorcycle video was completely unusable. Helmet audio (riding & climbing) was full of pops from the mounting system bouncing around. I inevitably see all my friends using them putting hairbands or bungees around them to keep them from wobbling. I returned it and bought a GoPro. I was sold after my first video. Yeah, they stick out like a sore thumb, but the mounts are the best in the industry IMO.

Brian, which Go Pro did you get?

The original HD Hero. Got two of them for nearly the price of one Hero 2. They've been good enough for my taste so far...although I would love to have a new hero 3.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
