Description

Heiliger Geist is one of the largest formation in Meteoria containing some of the area's best .long routes. It is also one of the easiest to top out on via the 5.4 route Ausstiegsvariante zum Weg der Blumen. But the real gems are the moderate to hard routes such as the 5.9 Traumpffeiler or the 5.12 A1 Action Directe

Getting There

Heiliger Geist is located north east of Kastraki right next to town. Approaches start either from town or from the main road to the north of the formation.

This route is a mega classic and a must do if your climbing the grade. You can expect pitch after pitch of quality steep climbing right to the summit with typical but reasonable runouts for the area. Additional protection is most useful on the crux pitch but you could get by without it if your feeling solid. And although this route is called 9 pitches it is easy to link any of the pitches. In fact when John and I climbed it only took us 4 pitches. With a 60m rope we linked the first two, then ...[more]   Browse More Classics in International
