There is a lot of rock in this canyon. Some of it is terribly loose. This crag has some loose rock, but the mostly mixed lines here have surprisingly good rock quality. It is sunny until later in the day, and I would be surprised if you saw anyone else. The routes are longer than most in Gunnison, and the type of rock allows for interesting crack and face climbing variations. This is well worth a visit.
2.2 miles from the Blue Mesa turnoff is a bridge that is the start to the canyon. From the bridge, it is 1.3 miles on the right. There is a parking area on the left next to a Class IV rapid. Hike up the hill to the right, and the crag is on your left.
